(San Francisco, CA) – Over 18 designers from around the world are traveling to the Regency Center in San Francisco for Melange 2015, the annual celebration of human rights & diversity through fashion and art. This year’s show will be a tribute to the 70th Year Anniversary of The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). UNESCO was founded in 1945 to develop the "intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind" as a means of building lasting peace. For the past five years, Melange has hosted this global celebration of diversity in San Francisco, attracting partners such as Sephora, Jean Paul Gaultier, and more. Melange 2015, this year’s show, has been mentioned in Cosmopolitan, Univision, and other global publications.
Straight off the runways of NYFW, model Madeline Stuart from Australia will be accepting the Melange Model of the Year Award. Madeline is the leading internationally acclaimed model with Down Syndrome, and she has been featured in: Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and more. This award will be presented by Katiti Kironde, the first African American woman on the cover of Glamour magazine and Harvard entrepreneur at Melange 2015. Last year, the Melange Model of the Year Award was presented to Cory Wade, LGBT Activist and America’s Next Top Model finalist, at Melange 2014.
Other leaders in the fashion and arts community will be receiving awards at Melange 2015, including Onch Movement. Onch is traveling to Los Angeles to receive the International Fashion Ambassador Award at Melange 2015, and his VIP client list includes Kate Moss, Kim Kardashian, and Nicki Minaj, who famously rocked her Onch Rainbow Ice Cream Cone Necklace to accept the VMA for Best Rapper of the Year.
Onch also launched his long-term relationship with cult favorite Hello Kitty, which culminated in his recent role as designer for the brand’s first collection at Forever21, The Hello Kitty Forever jewelry collection. Onch, the trend-setter, is known for his unique designs, including his "Meat-Lace" meat necklace which was featured by the NY Post, LA Times, Huffington Post, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, and In Touch.
Laganja Estranja (Jay Jackson), who recently choreographed for the Miley Cyrus VMA 2015 finale performance, will also be flying from Los Angeles to attend Melange 2015. Last year, Laganja Estranja received the Performer of the Year Award at Melange 2014 in San Francisco and traveled with the team to headline at Melange Brasil 2014 in Rio de Janeiro. Laganja is known internationally for her “death drop” dance moves and catch phrases from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Melange will also be filming and producing Laganja’s highly anticipated upcoming music video in Rio de Janeiro later this year.
President of Melange Brasil and Creative Director, Cristina Ribeiro, has been coaching a team of 70+ local models of ages 3 to 60 to prepare for Melange 2015. The show draws a large community of local artists with the spirit of celebrating diversity, an iconic cultural element of San Francisco and the Bay Area. On November 28, 2015, Cristina Ribeiro will be producing Melange Brasil 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, where they will be closing down a street plaza to host Melange Brasil 2015! Last year, Rio de Janeiro City Hall sponsored Melange Brasil 2014 at the historic and famous Sala Baden Powell theater in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
Local artists and leaders will also be celebrated and honored at Melange 2015 in San Francisco. Angel Williams of Heavenly Lines will be receiving the Bay Area Designer Award, and Thomas Demauriea Goward, artist and dancer who has performed in music videos with Beyonce and Usher will be receiving the Performer of the Year Award. Thomas will also be modeling for celebrity designer Stevie Boi, who has been featured in Vogue and Couture Press.
Artists from around the world are joining this spectacle of fashion, entertainment, and empowerment. Manaola Hawaii will be traveling from Hawaii as the first designer from Hawaii to showcase at the show. Designs from Polish designers, Magdalena Koziej and Michal Wójciak, will also be shown at the event. Yuly Fuentes-Medel, the founder of Descience is flying from Boston to participate in the show. Varignia Garcia, a famous eco-friendly designer, is also flying in from Peru to showcase new looks on the catwalk. Melange 2015 will be the biggest show to date in the five year history of the local startup - founded in 2011.

Katiti is on the Board of Advisors for Melange and has been advising the CEO and Harvard alumnus, Nick Navarro, since 2009 when they first met at Harvard University. Gatito Sucio (India): Menswear designer, Lorenzo Pena, is traveling from LA to showcase his designs.
Heavenly Lines (Egypt): Angel Williams is a local designer and recipient of the 2015 Bay Area Designer Award.
In Lush (Argentina): Local designer, who attended the Fashion Instutitue of Design and Merchandising.
InstagatorFashion (Taiwan): Local emerging designer from San Francisco.
Kid’s Dream (US): Chewy Jang is the CEO of Kid’s Dream is traveling from LA to participate.
Magdalena Koziej (Poland): Designer of the Faculty of Textile and Fashion on Lodz Fine Arts Academy.
Manaola Hawaii (Polynesia): Designer featuring contemporary, fashionable Pacific Island designs.
Marise Oliveira (Brasil): Marise participated in Melange 2014, and she is from Brasil.
